Michael Roberts '26 chosen by the Nu Chapter as the 2026 recipient of the Donald G. Kress '68 Award
The men of the Nu Chapter of Delta Tau Delta voted to honor Michael Roberts '26 as this year's recipient of the Donald G. Kress '58 Award. The award was presented by Nu's Chapter Advisor Nate Fowler '16 at the All Chapter Dinner on May 8th in recognition of Michael's commitment to Delta Tau Delta and the ideals it represents.
Michael served as president of the chapter in 2024. I had the opportunity to work closely with Michael, as with all undergraduate presidents in recent years, and it is immediately clear that he is deserving of this award. The presidency is a challenging job and Michael always treated it with the respect it deserved, regardless of the challenges. He has always had the best interest of the chapter and its image in mind and was quick to reach out for advice in challenging situations - sometimes the more challenging choice is to think before reacting and we can all be thankful to have considerate, thoughtful leaders among us.
Michael also served a brief term as the president of the Interfraternity Council (IFC) as well as offering additional recruitment assistance post-presidency - demonstrating that a recipient of the Kress award is not a one-and-done leader, but someone who continues to serve the fraternity, even when the position is not as glamorous. His term presided over representatives from multiple chapters on campus, but notably his term included a student board with two additional Delts - a first for the IFC and ushered in more Delts to run for leadership positions on the council. I would like to congratulate Michael as we add his list to the growing list of past prestigious recipients - well deserved!

The award is presented annually to an undergraduate member who, in the judgment of his fellow brothers, makes the greatest contribution to the Nu Chapter during the academic year. Kress was involved with Delta Tau Delta since he came to Lafayette in the fall of 1953. His lifetime of service to the Nu Chapter and to the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity continues to inspire all of us.

Dexter Kennedy ’26 wins George Wharton Pepper Prize
In July 2021, weeks before Kennedy was slated to start at Lafayette, a surfing accident on the Jersey Shore left him paralyzed from the chest down. Kennedy deferred his college acceptance a year while navigating the complex and extensive recovery process.
“Everything in my life has changed,” he continued, recalling his thoughts after his injury. “The one thing that I don’t want to change is the school that I worked my ass off to get into, and the community that I feel is right for me.”
After graduation, Kennedy will pursue a master’s degree in international education at New York University this fall.

William E. Greenip ‘44 was the last Delt recipient of the George Wharton Pepper Prize. The Nu Chapter created the William E. Although Dexter Kennedy '26 stands alone as the only active Delt to have won the Pepper Prize, he joins a small group of Delts who are Nu Chapter Greenip Award winners.
